Apple bumpers arriving, Best Buy giving away free side film for iPhone 4
TiPb iPhone Forum user shaolinfinest let us know last night, and many others have since confirmed, that Best Buy was starting to give away InvisibleShielf protective side films for iPhone 4:
I’m not sure if this has been discussed but Best Buy is starting to receive Zagg kits called “iPhone 4fix” or something like that. Basically Zagg sent us a bunch of invisishield sides to put on customers iPhone 4’s and they are free. The only disclaimer on the kit is that it says shield and install is free but install is up to the associate if they want to put it on or not. Before going in, call your local Best Buy if you are like me and don’t want to put a case on it. I installed the sides today and it was easy to put on and feels ok so far.
Whether or not InvisibleShield provides any protection from signal loss if you’re prone to such things in your area is debatable, but it’s interesting to see how other retailers are competing with Apple’s free bumper program.
Speaking of which, the TiPb iPhone 4 store has the full on front-and-back-protecting InvisibleShield and BodyGuardz in stock, and the Case-Mate Clear Armor available for pre-order. Just don’t use as much liquid to apply it as Dieter did…
We’ve also started to hear that folks are receiving their free Apple bumpers, in some cases a month or more ahead of the previously suggested delivery date. Those who asked for 3rd party cases instead haven’t had any such luck so far.
Of course, Apple’s free bumpers are pretty much restricted to black, and the TiPb iPhone 4 store has more cases in more colors than you can shake a gyro at, so check out Leanna going red, or pick out a color all your own.

Note for everyone… The Zaggs film is only free of you purchased it from Best Buy, it’s $9.99 if you didn’t. Just left a BB and I didn’t purchase it. Every where online said that it’s free to all users of the iPhone 4 but really it’s not.
Kinda ticked honestly to read every website saying it’s free and it’s only free to their customers who purchased the phone from them.
Also, I did look at the employee email and it did state that it’s free to customers who purchased from BB and $9.99 to those who didn’t.
Well it ought to help keep you from bridging the gap (death touch) but it won’t help the “universal” death grip.
This appeals to me MUCH more than the bumpers.
@Ben FYI you research it i got mine at Best Buy after i got off work and they gave it to me for free, and i purchased mine at ATT….Next time get it right.

I got my bumper today too! Ordered it from the app last week on the 23 and got it today the 28. Not bad apple! That was definitely a pleasant suprise on time.

My bumper shipped but GOD knows when it will come with DHL’s awful service.
I just called my local BB and they said it’s only for those who bought it from BB
wow! all the whining is being awarded with alot of free stuff. maybe we should complain about something else and see if Apple & it’s buddies will cough up some more free stuff. I sure could use one of those new docks.

Should be getting my bumper tomorrow tracking says it was picked up by USPS in salt lake city today the 28th so should be delivered tomorrow
Talked with local Bestbuy. There say : 1. iP4 have to be purchased from bestbuy. 2. U must be enrolled member of one of their programms.
That is: not really free stuff.

Yeah, my bestbuy too said that that it was only for BestBuy RewardsZone members (or higher) who have purchased an iPhone there.
I am still waiting on my bumper, but I am doing just fine naked.
What’s sad is that I have been checking the tracking of my bumper and it started out 30 miles away from me, now its 200 miles away from me and then coming back by the 4th. That’s messed up.
Got my free zagg side today. Did not buy from best buy. Did not ask just needed to show them the phone.

Got my free bumper today…what a piece of crap. First off, it’s cut about 1/8″ too big so after I put it on my iPhone, there is slack in the bumper so you can indent it to the phone all around the edges.
I can’t believe Apple charged $29 for that. I am going sans case and trying to get one of those Scotch tape (I mean Zagg) pieces from Best Buy, although I bought it at Radio Shack. When I called BB, they want $9 if you didn’t buy the iPhone there. $9 for tape…wow.
I got my ZAGG side film from BB, just had to show them the phone. However, it still doesn’t fix the “Death Grip” issues on my i4. I still have some signal drop but not all the way. Better then all the way. Can’t complain, it was FREE!

Got my free black bumper today from Apple. It’s pretty nice. Better than I expected. I’ll see how the grip of doom does and report back in a week. Now let’s see if they can tackle that proximity sensor issue!!!

I bought my phone at best buy but got my zagg front & back shields online. The store said I needed to buy the shields there, only then could I get the side cover for free.
