Preparing for the Bar Exam? Got $1000? Yep, There’s BarMax CA for That!
We submit another high-priced entry into the App Store — BarMax CA [$999.99 - iTunes link]. The California Edition of this Bar exam prep app seems to actually have something to offer for would-be-lawyers, according to TechCrunch:
The app is over 1 gigabyte in size, which is the largest application I’ve ever seen. It includes thousands of pages of materials as well as hundreds of hours of audio lectures. It’s all the information you could ever want for the two-month course. And again, it can be done all on your iPhone. That said, if you do want some more tangible paperwork for certain sections, BarMax will send you that electronically as well.
Still sound expensive? Apparently there’s a free version as well, but you have to have signed up for the $3000-$4000 in-class prep course. So, yeah, price is relative.
Any California would-be barristers think it’s worth it?

If there were an app for the Irish State Bar, I’d pay $1000 for it no problem. It would be cheap at twice the price.

Don’t feel bad for the lawyers. They buy this app, pass the bar, then charge you and me $250 and hour for their services. This app is paid for in the first 4 hours after they get out of law school.

Hrmm.. I’m already paying $3500 for Barbri prep courses.. Will have to pass on this one.
