Quick App for Xbox 360 Owners: 360 Live

xbox_360_app

If you are a big online gamer and own a Xbox, 360 Live [$1.99 - iTunes Link] is the app for you. There are many apps within the App Store that perform many of the same functions as 360 Live but none of them are this well integrated.

  • Sign in securely using your Xbox Live credentials. 360 Live automatically retrieves your friends.
  • Complete Gamertags management. Add, remove, accept or reject pending requests.
  • An organized Friends List. Grouped by status (Online, Offline, etc.)
  • Gamer Profile and details including gamerscore, bio, location, country, gamercard, avatar, etc.
  • Check your friends complete games history.
  • Compare locked and unlocked achievements per game and gamertag.
  • Send and receive messages. You can even send messages to multiple recipients!
  • Gamercard coverflow style carrousel on landscape mode!

The only negative that I’ve seen testing this app out is that at times, it can take some time to load. Hopefully that is cleared up with an update or two and if it is, this will be hands down the best Xbox Live companion piece.

agreed, its an amazing app, just needs to be worked on a little more. still better than most though, plus, its reaching out of the console itself & allowing ‘on the go’ updates/contact info, can’t complain much!

would be cool to update & personalize stuff, like on the system… but that’s something we gotta wait & see if possible.

anyways, give this app a try! and go suggest & direct feedback to the developers as well to improve it!

Don’t use an app that asks for your GamerTag/LiveID/Password. Community apps will never ask for this information. This app isn’t made by a MS Community Developer and site scrapes: https://twitter.com/jxlarrea/status/6068299209. Be cautious.

I like the app but am also not liking giving my LIVE ID/Password to some developer.

  4. Mikey Says:

LOL, this is from E who works at Xbox Live. I’m sure its in response to this 360 Live App.

  5. sting7k Says:

The dev claims the info is stored locally on your iPhone/iPod Touch and is only used to access Xbox.com to login and run the app. It never goes anywhere else.

  6. Mikey Says:

@sting7k, i’d want proof. i’d also want to see what information is getting sent to his server via cookie auth.

    $1.99!? REALLY?! M$ is lame.

  8. Ben Says:

Something seems fishy about this. Microsoft said sometime last year that all XBox Live apps must be free and aren’t allowed to ask for your login.

I get the feeling that this app won’t be sticking around for too long.

  9. Guido Says:

Agreed, I won’t be getting it based on the fact they want username/password. It’s too easy to for that info to be abused.

  10. CJ Says:

Exactly!!! Plus they should not charge for this service!!! Microsoft should step in!!!

  11. chris Says:

@Elric….How is MS lame, it isn’t even their app. Jeez people are always so quick to **** on MS.
