yes. Thanks. Touch Pets even contacted me about the Premium food update. Lol

Gameplay is still somewhat hampered by food consumption, despite the changes. As a poster stated above, for limited play, this works for some. If you have kids, (nephews, in my case) this can be expensive. Food regeneration and consumption need work. For now, the nephews are sticking with Nintendogs.

TouchPets Dogs is one of the best values on my iPhone. Why, you may ask? Because it has entertained both myself and my girlfriend steadily since we first downloaded it by creating a Canadian iTunes account and we have yet to spend a dime on it. My girlfriend has progressd our little Labrador quite far playing with it only after I get home from work or when it’s been long enough for a bowl of food to recharge while we are relaxing at home. It’s easily one of the most fleshed out concepts for a game on the app store yet and I have no qualms about the purchasing of additional food since, and here’s the key part, it is NOT REQUIRED.

Touch Pets has received a wealth of criticism from users over energy usage. Food for your virtual pet will inevitably require additional purchases. The pets require food within five to ten minutes making gameplay expensive.

Ngmoco has set food regeneration to 1/10 of a bowl of doggie food every 15 minutes only after you have less than one bowl of food remaining. Simple math will show that additional purchases are required to continue play.

This game is not a good value and users should be warned. This is probably the first example I have seen of developer abuses related to the changes in the free app/ in-app purchase policy.

Eliminate is my pick. Controls were tough at first, but now I’m a pro. I like the energy thing – it keeps me from wasting more than 10 minutes in a sitting.
