Google Street View Comes to Canada, Canadian iPhones

Google today flipped the switch on Google Street View for Canadians, making it available to Canadian iPhone users for the first time via the built-in Maps App. According to the CBC:
The service is now available in Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Vancouver, Squamish, B.C., Whistler, B.C., Ottawa, Kitchener, Ont., and Waterloo, Ont.
Due to concerns brought by the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, faces and license plates have been blurred out, and a method to request privacy-based image removal has been created.
So, Canadian readers, can you find your favorite local landmark on your iPhone now?

Been testing it, and it works around lots of the areas where I live… it’s not just the major cities listed.
I looked at my house, and I notice that the pictures were taken before June last summer because I still had my N.

I looked at my house in Oakville and it shows the renovations I did this summer. Judging from the stage of completion, they took the pic at the end of July. I also saw the Google camera car on the highway north of St. Catherines at the beginning of September, but it looks like they don’t have Streetview for that area yet.

i wonder if apple has purchased any streetview like technology.
they bought maps capability this summer, but without streetview they can’t seamlessly replace google on the iPhone.

Great, now when will they add Ontario’s most popular public transit system (TTC) to their maps!?!?!? I can’t believe they still don’t have ttc on the map. They have yrt and Hamilton but no ttc!?!?

Anyone noticed that “show traffic” option works now? For major streets at least.
It never worked for me b4, I’m in Vancouver btw

Works here in Calgary, as well as the traffic option… Pretty cool.

@Joe McG Not a real country? Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Let me guess you’re American? Home of the ego

Okay – stupid question… do I have to do something on my iPhone to enable this. I can’t seem to make it work in Calgary. Thanks.

@Scotty No just drop a pin anywhere and then click on the orange little man Symbol on the left of the address and you should then be in street mode.
