DO DOWNLOAD LATEST 8 VERSION OF ITUNES (as previous link). Install it etc. When you connect your Ipod 5G it will say you need Version 9. Just simply go to downlaod update latest software. Your base data/installation in version 8 gets the raw outline of the software installed without hiccup and 9 simply updates (patches?) this as you are not installing from scratch.
