Apps For Less: Mummy’s Revenge, Brothers In Arms: Hour of Heros, G-Map East/West

For those of you who are not familiar with our Apps for Less posts, they are a great way for us to point out a few good applications available in the App Store that are currently on sale or at a price that we feel is worth mentioning to our readers.
To get things kicked off we have a game that all of you Zombieville USA fans will be sure to enjoy, Mummy’s Revenge. [iTunes Link] For a limited time you can now purchase Mummy’s Revenge for $.99! This price will not last long so don’t wait to make your purchase!
This next game is for all of the first person shooter fans out there, Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes [iTunes Link] has dropped in price a few bucks to $4.99. If you never had the chance to check out msbaylor’s forum review, be sure to take a minute and see what this game is all about. You are sure not to be disappointed.
This last application is my current favorite GPS navigation application with voice turn-by-turn directions available today in the App Store. G-Map East and G-Map West [iTunes Links] are now available for $34.99 each. Here are some great features of G-Maps:
No Wi-Fi/3G connection needed for route guidance (Maps are built into application)
On-board navigation application with the fastest real-time routing
Full PND features with POIs, cool graphics and UI
No monthly fee unlike other mobile navigation services
So there you have it, three very high quality applications for you at great prices. If you happen to have an application in the App Store that is on sale and want everyone to know about it, feel free to contact us and let us know!

Are those G-Map East and G-Map West apps any good? I’m looking for a good turn by turn gps app and I hear it sends you on weird routes…

Also looking at G-Map East. Anybody have any comments on the new version, it looks like most of the reviews are from a while ago when it obviously sucked.

Really having a hard time trying to pick out a good navigation program.
Just going to have to wait to see what tomtom will offer.

@Da3lybx – I’ve used it for a few weeks now and I’ve used all of the others available in the app store as well. G-Maps is my favorite. I have yet to have it give me the wrong information. The only other option out there that is decent is AT&T Navigator but then you are paying $10 a month. None of them are perfect but G-Maps is currently the best. That’s my opinion.

ditto Jeremy, been using G-Maps for a couple of months now and it was my favorite app for directions by far. now that they added voice cues it is awesome.
my only 2 complaints left are that there is no landscape mode and you cant get right to the app from other apps like contacts or email. I wish if i got an email with an address in it i could launch g-maps right from the email and have it route me like it does with the native maps app.
those are small issues though and the app itself is really great.!!

G-Maps is easily the most I’ve paid for an iphone app but at the same time it might be the best value at the same time. This app is really nice.

Gmaps east was 19.99 when it first came out, then went to $25. Since this update it is now $35. I bought it at $25. The app is good but has limitations. Only half of the US maps. You cant play ipod music with turn by turn voice prompts on. The interface is quirky and all street names don’t show up unless you are driving on them or directions are using them. Its not that bad of an app, but seems a little lower than a tom tom/garmin gps. Navigon has gps software for Europe in the apps store for $135 (US version maybe this week) Tom Toms GPS app is expected to be around the same price. Both cover the whole US. Tom Tom will have a iPhone (itouch?) mounting accessory that will have its own gps chip in it that supposedly better than the built in iPhone gps.

@Peteo wow that sounds good… Guess i will just use this app until the Tom tom one comes out
