Rest, reconfigured, started from scratch a half a dozen times. This network worked before with no problems. Then I had to sit and think what changed, what had I done, reversed latest updates, didn't work, ran pc laptop in safe mode, no luck, unplugged modem and airport express over night, no luck. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Then I remembered I had recently added a set of wireless headphones. The transmitter was blocking the signal. Not sure how, not sure why, but that was it. Removed the transmitter and my wifi is back and the number of dropped calls stopped at the same time. My wifes wifi packed in after just 2 weeks.
